Obviously you don’t have to do this workout on a beach, it’s a bodyweight workout that can be done anywhere, but if you are near a beach, or visiting one soon, save this workout. Doing these burpees on the sand was an absolute killer to my lower body. My calves never felt like they felt doing beach burpees. The competition burpees and push ups were the worst. It seemed like being on the wet sand for a tad longer (doing the push up or comp) allowed my toes to sink into the sand even more, which meant more effort in order to jump. Tough!
It was a good feeling though, and I’m definitely not complaining. The amount of work it takes to get through this beach workout is too good to not share. I only did 4 reps of each burpee, circuiting through the different burpee exercises for a total of 3 rounds.
Feel free to do more rounds if you want, but after 3 rounds I was ready to relax. 😉

For a workout that didn’t take me any longer than 8 minutes….(or maybe it did, who’s counting really?) I was totally sweating my tush off! I don’t know if it was the hot weather, the workout itself, or the fact that I was just dying to go swimming that made me work so hard. In the end, I pushed it so hard I almost puked…almost, but didn’t!! 🙂
