A while back I shared this pretty sweet Sprints + HIIT Lower Body Takeover Workout which I promised I would share the warm up and cool down that I did for that workout. I don’t normally do a whole lot of sprinting, but when I do, my main focus for a cool down is my core, my legs and a touch of arms.
This stretching routine is aimed to get your whole body moving, so can actually be done after most workouts. It can be performed anyway you like. Some like to hold each stretch for a long time, others like to go in and release, then to go further into a deeper stretch; whichever way you like to do is totally fine, as long as you focus on a few things:
+ Maintain a nice, slow, deep breath during your stretch and while releasing
+ to be sure you aren’t feeling any sort of pain (aka; listen to your body) stop if it hurts, it should only feel a slight stretch
+ don’t push yourself too hard
You know the whole No Pain, No Game motto? Yeah, not really a good one to focus on. Pain is not a part of the game, so skip that motto and focus on listening to your body because it knows best!
I feel like I’ve been a little laid back when it comes to blogging lately. I just haven’t been able to get my head in the game. Just like fitness, sometimes blogging can lack motivation, but the only way to bounce back is to be strong, and not to let the small things get you down.
I was feeling down and like everything I was doing was wrong. I was listening too much to others, who say “this is how it’s done” “do this to succeed” “things you should not do” and it was too much. I felt like I lost my shine. It was really started tearing me down. At this point, I’ve come around to pretty much say…..eff it.
I thrive when I’m me!
Not when I’m trying to be someone like her, him or them. I’m me and that’s about it. I began blogging doing what I wanted and not caring about what others would think, and now, I feel like the past couple of months have been a fail.
I could have been thriving, rather than worrying.
For everyone who has been with me from the beginning (you know who you are) down to the people who have just discovered this blog today, you’re all freaking awesome!!! The motivation you give me is what keeps this blog going!
I hope this little ramble isn’t going to change things and you continue to follow along with Lushious Lifts. (and Lushious Eats) 🙂 Deep down, I really want to delete this entire paragraph because I feel like it is very negative and I can’t stand negativity. I swear, I’m not trying to be negative, I’m just being honest. I’m sure if you’re a fellow blogger, you totally understand.
On that note, all I really want to come out of this is:
